I believe this lantern is recharged by plugging it into an electrical main. You can see the cord in the picture at the following link. The charge appears good for about 5 hours of light.

Yes. If you are planning a camping trip, having a way to drink water is essential. If bleach is the method you prefer, buy some chlorine bleach. All you need to do is add two drops of bleach per quart of water and shake. Wait at least 30 minutes before drinking.

then you have done everything you could do,,,,,,,did you clean or replace the switch??

The odds that both bulbs went out at the same time is pretty low, actually. It's more likely that there's corrosion in the on-off switch or that an internal wire may have come loose. It's also possible--and I've made this mistake myself--that one of the 6-volt batteries has been put in backwards so that the polarity is not properly aligned for both batteries.

With all that said, here are a few simple tests you can do.

1. Check the batteries. If you have a battery tester, are both batteries good? If so, check they are properly installed and making good contact with their terminals.

2. Pull the bulbs out and use a voltmeter to check that you have voltage going to each bulb tube. This basically means switching the light on and touching each of the terminals where the bulb(s) would clip in. You should see a strong voltage reading on one or both tubes-I believe that this light is designed to keep working, even if one of the bulbs is burned out.

3. If you don't get a reading from the bulb terminals, the on-off switch or wiring leading to is is the prime suspect. You may have to disassemble the light housing to get into that, which may not be particularly easy. At this point, you might want to call Rayovac customer service and see what they might do for you under their alleged lifetime warranty for flashlights. You may be able to send it in (holding onto the bulbs for yourself) and get a free replacement.

Good luck!

The bezel (the circular portion on the front of the flashlight that holds the bulb and lens) will unscrew. The old battery should slide right out.

Hope this helps.

An air mattress is a mattress that is blown up using an electric pump, manual pump or with your breath. They are then plugged and support the weight of the sleeper like a balloon.

Sleeping pads are commonly smaller than air mattresses and come in both inflatable and foam models. Most sleeping pads are made for one person, while air mattresses are constructed to mimic traditional beds.

that is the whole idea of foam pads, they start at 4" and compress in those parts of your body that aren't flat. The heavier you are the more they compress.

the new ones are supposed to last about 10 years. When the battery goes, you buy a new jug. Or you could just mark your calendar. If you phone Brita, they will send you a new meter unit for free.
