Question about Sanyo Televison & Video

Open Question

When I opened the back panel, I couldn't find the T-con board at my Sanyo 55 UHD LCD TV. I think the board looks inside the metal panel. How can I reach the T con board? Model No : FW55C87F

SOURCE: Samsung 46" LCD LN46B650 started showing vertical

had a very similar situation with my Phillips 42 in. LCD TV.

Here was my Problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened it up( Warranty was Expired) and found several faulty capacitors on the PSB. Its pretty common. Major Electronic companies were sold faulty capacitors that fail in 2-5 years instead of 10-20 due to a lack of preservatives. It wouldn't surprise me if you have the same problem. TV will work fine for a few years and then just fail completely or slowly deteriorate.

Here are the solutions
1. Have it Repaired
2. Check for faulty caps and if you find some(budged or leaking) you know you have located a problem
Remove the board and replace the whole thing.
3. If you have some soldering skills you can replace the faulty caps.
Caps are very inexpensive, under a dollar in most cases. I replaced 4 for about $5.00

Hope this Helps.
Good Luck

What component should I get to fix my Samsung LCD TV?

HI,
Probably the t con broad is faulty. t con board id the on which drives the LDC panel. I some tvs its not possible to replace the T con board as it would be integrated to the LCD panel normally in 32 inches and bellow. In others i would be separate board which is replaceable individually. I have added a video to know how to locate a t con board which is replaceable individuality. As you didn't mentioned the model number its not possible to add the exact image. In all most all the tvs T con Board (individuality replaceable one ) will be placed on the top center of the tv cover with a metal shield. If its incinerated to the LCD panel then inside the LCD protection metal chassis. Check and fin which one you have.

Why does my sanyo dp46848 screen go dark but whites are too bright?

First try to gently push the cable between the main board and the LCD controller (T-CON) board and if that doesn't affect the image then replace the T-con board.

Model dp42647, picture got darker and now has red tint ?

Try tapping on the TV and then open the back cover and try gently shaking the connection wires, specifically the one between the main board and the LCD accellerator and controller boards to see if it might be just a loose wire contact - very possible by the way.

if not then you start in order with the T-Con board, then the accelerator.

I don't think the problem will be in the main board, but it may also be in the LCD panel itself - last and worst possibility.

Hope this helps.

Also in future it will be helpful if you specify the chassis number. Makes a lot of difference with Sanyo LCD TVs.

Hope this helps.

Left half my my screen has different color bars running vertically down it

Hi,
Your tv have problem with the T con board. T con board is one wich drives the pixels in the LCD panel. There is no repair possible with these boards. You have to replace the T con board. Normally you can find the t con board in the top centre or the bottom centre of the tv covered with metal cover or aluminium foil.
Here i have added the link for T con board you can fin the picture of the board in the link

Dp46849 Screen goes black after 10-15 minutes

This info was given to me by a HAM Radio friend that repairs TV's For a Living.
Disassemble TV, clean all boards from dust, unplug/replug all connectors,
most are really small, be careful, try TV again. Out Same Model TV started off the same, RIGHT bottom of screen/shadow when TV was on for awhile, since then has got worst, like 2 shadow boxes showed up, now upon startup, TV is screen is covered w/vertical lines, shut off the TV once or twice and works fine until next startup. If the above does not fix TV, look at the top of TV from Back Panel Off, Top-Center is a board called T-Con board, replace it. All the info for this board replacement is on the Bar-Code Laabel and Board itself, ie; T370HW02 VC CNTRL BD, 37T04-COG, FX-5546T03C22 (orC21)-964-0000NMP-00629-03 this board is Mgr By AU Optronics. GoTo For Parts/Pricing, they have 180 warranty on parts, aprox $45.00 for T-Con . http://www.shopjimmy.com/auo-55-46t03-c22-t-con-board.htm. He stated It IS Very Rare That The LCD Screen Itself Would Be The Problem. Right now I have Our Sanyo DP46849 apart
laying down on a bed, had to remove Base Pedestal to remove back cover,
There is a smaller cover, 2 screws u can remove to gain access to the turner board and power supply, there are 2 more boards hidden, before u remove back cover from front panel, untape wire leads from back of LCD Screen and unsnap the 2 torrid coils, black plastic things wires going through, these torrid/ferrit coils are mounted on a snap-in base, w/very small screwdriver they will unsnap from plastic base in 4 corners, if the base breaks from panel frame, just hot reglue back in place when are repairs are final. The 2 panels will seperate eaisly, if not you have some maore screws left to remove. Our TV was little dusty inside on the power supply board and alot of dust collected on some big transistors, 3 lead/legs, I'am hoping this caused the power problem @ start-up, going to clean all bard then reconnect all leads/cable, ect and retry, If no work will replace the T-Con board. Hope This Help's All
