Question about Televison & Video
If you see colors it means the screen is damaged internally and you need to buy a new one. If there isnt then it might be the front protector that needs replaced. If you see horizontal or verticle black lines then it is a chip issue

SOURCE: Small chip in screen of 40'' TV
if its just the glass that is chipped, it can be repaired with clear nail polish or epoxy, use a piece of semi-rigid plastic to hold it in place while it cures, much like a windshield chip repair.

SOURCE: screen smashed on my lcd tv
Your question really deserves two separate answers. First, yes the screen can be replaced. The second answer is a little more detailed. Is it worth replacing? That is the real question. I think that you will find that the replacement panel for the TV will cost almost as much as a replacement TV. Given the pricing of TVs lately, I would not be surprised to find that you can purchase a complete replacement for LESS than the cost of the panel.
