Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check whether the audio is muted by accidental press at remote control button. Enter its sound menu, and check it. If muted, as you know there will be no audio output. if it is not connected to a soung system that might be at fault reset it to factory default through the settings menus available on the remote and see if that makes a difference. If it only works via a remote control ensure the remote is functioning .
If you reset successfully and thereis still no sound, (and the cause is not a sound system or such,) vthen you probably need the services of a technician. No doubt , even in todays modern tvs, the sound output can go independently of the video output.

I think that the tv is trying to return to its last state and can't log itself into Netflix or something along those lines and it's confusing its brain. I pressed the power off button while I had Netflix on and it's just switching itself on and off now. Mines 4 months old so it can't be wear and tear.

Count the flashes, that's and error code telling you whats wrong with the TV. Then go on line type in make and model no. and number of flashes. for example ( Sony trinatron model 46xxxxx 5 flash error code ) This will tell what is wrong with the TV and what to replace.
