Check battery first. If it's good check starter relay and any fuses for the starter, if any. If still nothing and all relays and fuses are good, you probaly have a bad starter.

The most common cause of this code being stored is a defective vent valve or vent valve control solenoid. Other causes may include a faulty or improperly installed fuel cap, a faulty purge control solenoid, a clogged or broken charcoal canister, broken or cracked vacuum or fuel vapor hoses, a faulty pressure or flow sensor, or a bad PCM. Corroded, broken, or shorted system circuitry or connectors are also likely culprits. The vent valve is located underneath the car, attached to the charcoal canister, behind a large black plastic shield and next to the fuel tank. Any question feel free to write back. Good Luck.

If you can access the settings on the screen menu (gear icon), then keep scrolling to the right and then see a 'system' option on the screen there will be a language option there (tap the navigation arrow on the top right of the screen 7 times). View the languages (tap the second one down the list) and select the one appropriate for your region. Be aware that you may not be able to receive FM broadcasts outside of the Japanese bandwidth.

*this works on later Mazda Axela/3 models. Unsure if it will work on the MY11 model. Once you have changed the language you can proceed to go through the menus to alter other settings like connectivity, display in miles/kilometres etc)

A cheat that works every time. Disconnect your spark plug leads, fit the socket and breaker bar to the sprocket bolt and rest the end of the bar on the chassis rail or frame (turn the breaker bar and socket on the sprocket bolt as if you're trying to undo the bolt until it makes contact with a part of the car that won't be damaged and maybe rest a rag under it) Turn the ignition key on and off rapidly 1-2 times and the torque from the starter motor will be more than sufficient to undo the bolt.
