Question about Buick Park Avenue
1997 Buick Park Avenue Ultra Volt light stays on. Replaced battery, checked for proper charge with volt meter, checked belts for proper tension, checked alternator with volt meter, checked all fuses with a ckeck light everything has power from battery to relays to alternator. all of these are within the normal operating range. I still have a check engine light (Volt) illuminated on my dash. What could be causing it to stay lit? I plugged in an OBDII scan tool with no problem shown for a possible charging system error code. The light problem occured after I replaced my engine with a 1998 engine. I had to swap the engine wire harness from the old engine to the new engine for the plugs ie connections to match up. This is when the volt light issue arose. The light comes on 30 seconds after the car is started and stays on. It duplicates the problem everytime I start the car 30 second after the car is started I get an audible warning beep an the light comes on. Values for battery are 13 to 14 volts car running. Alternator 14.6 + or - 1. Values remain the same with fans, radio, headlights , cigarette lighter depressed and all interior lights on. Head lights are bright not dim. Thanks to all for any help in this matter.
