You have to scan the pcm for the ABS code which will tell you what the problem is. It could be a wheel sensor not communicating to the ABS computer or something like that. No way to tell what the fault light means until the code is read.

SOURCE: 2002 Ford Excursion battery light come on intermittently

Remove power to all aftermarket components, if you know how to use a multi-meter connect to power source inside vehicle.. Drive normal, if voltage drops below 12v while driving, it is faulty alternator. If bat light comes on and voltage is above 12v the plug on the alternator might be correded and throwing faulty light, or bad ground in gauge cluster...

SOURCE: 2001 ford taurus ABS will not light but brake light on

You have a bad ABS module. Had the same problem with my 2000 Taurus. The ABS module is a Bosch 5.3 You can have yours rebuilt for $170 or go to a junk yard and pull one from a 2000-2003 Taurus. Make sure its a traction control module if you have it on your car!

SOURCE: ABS and brake on 2001 Ford Windstar come on randomly

Do you mean the van is actually braking like a Starsky and Hutch move or that the warning lights indicate that they are on? If its lights then you may be low on brake fluid. Maybe a module leak

SOURCE: The ABS light comes on but it doesn't seem to

The simple DIY method is to gently hose down each wheels when they are COMPLETELY COLD.
Dirt can cover to ABS sensors.

Most failure are from the front wheels because of the heat.

The car wash with under side cleaning will also do the trick if it's a dirt related problem.

Remove the negitive battery cable or clear the OBD-II code.

MAC and OTC make ABS senor tester to pin point the trouble spot but it cost $$$.

Do the preventive cleaning before bring it to the shop.

Please post more information after you clean out the wheel sensors.

I have a 2001 ford excursion 6,8 v10 and have coused a short circuit on the radio.Broken fuses I have changed.Unfortunately the battery is not being charged for this short and ABS lamp also lights up.Whats...

There should be a main fuse for the abs and it is probably in the same grounding circuit as the radio. You want to double check and make sure 100% that all fuses are good, in the correct spot, good connection and the right amp fuse. It sounds like you have a ground that is not making connection or possibly a shorted or open circuit. The good news is this sounds like a very easy fix. The bad news is it might be tricky to find. If you have any ABS,BRAKE,TRACTION or CHECK ENGINE lights on you will have to scan the codes. ABS/Brake codes will start with a "C" then four numbers, example C0265, or you may have no communication. It will be one of the previous two outcomes. Before you get it scanned, i would call the shop ahead of time to make sure they have the ability to scan brake codes aka chassis codes, (hence the "C" for chassis). If you can get me these codes there is a very good chance I can pin-point your problem and tell you how to fix it FOR FREE :-) AutoZone and advanced auto scan codes for free, however they are limited to only engine codes and wont be able to accurately scan your brake codes. I am here if you need further assistance.

Have A 2000 excursion hade the hubs replaced and now have the ABS light going on off?

The ABS wheel speed sensors are on the hubs. Check the cable connectors are not loose and properly connected. Possibly one of the sensors might have been damaged when the hubs were replaced.

My ABS light and emergency brake light comes on everytime I start my Ford Windstar, and they stay on when I'm driving around, even though my brakes are not on. Anyone have any idea what this means?

I think it means the Antilock Brake System is disengaged. So, a code has been stored in the abs computer. Standard obd tester cannot check these codes, must visit your dealer or some autoshop with ABS reader.

According with the service manual: During starting the RED brake light should briefly come on and then go off. If the RED light stays on, it indicates a problem in the main braking system, such as a low fluid level, or the parking brake is still on.

Hope helps (remember to rate and comment this).

No brake lights and no turn signal

Check the fuses that are associated with the brake lights and turn signal. The fuse box is located below the steering column and the fuse box diagram (for fuse assignment) is located in the owner's manual. I hope this helps.
